How to defeat Shadow (with Blue) / Saga Frontier (Remaster)

日本語

This is an article about the capture of Shadow, the strongest boss of the Saga Frontier Remaster. In this article, I would like to introduce the strategy under the condition with blue in the Fuse-Blue scenario. Unlike other scenarios, Fuse-Blue’s Blue is overwhelmingly easier to capture because you can use Life Magic.

Party organization

First of all, I would like to introduce the party organization.

Fuse

It’s the main character of Fuse scenario, so you can’t remove him. I like the character, but even if you don’t like him, do your best to use him.

Emilia

Honestly, any human can be used, but Emilia, who can easily improve her concentration, is suitable because she uses a lot of Bounding Shot and Magics in the Shadow battle.

Blue

Rouge is also fine. It is no exaggeration to say that we are only there to use Reviver and Sacrifice of Life Magic. Almost only those two actions, but in the case of a capture with Blue, these are the lifelines.

Asellus

Let’s possess the unicorn with the Faeblade. This is for Magical Heel. Unlike Starlight Heal, Magical Heal can activate the shield when used, which increases the survival rate. Also, since it is a recovery method that uses skill points, it can be used even after the skill points have been used up in Tower.

Red

Again, any human can do this. Red can transform into a hero if a companion other than himself collapses, but he probably doesn’t have the opportunity to take advantage of that trait. He is the main character, so I put him in somehow.

Equipment

Next is the explanation of the equipment.

First, Light Rifle or Lethal Dragoon as the main weapon. This is because the main means of attack is Bounding Shot. As a secondary weapon, Agni MBX. Among the guns, it has the largest number of bullets loaded, so it is ideal as Guns Akimbo.

The shield is a Dullahan Shield, which is the strongest shield in terms of overall strength. This is related to the closeout explained later, and there is also an option called Wonder Bangle.

In the surplus weapon column, the best wound Max Cure or Backpack. Equip the Backpack to the character with the highest survival rate, excluding Blue and Asellus, and have them work as a recovery role as appropriate.

The armor is the strongest armor, a Pluto Armor.

And a Harmonium Bangle. Shadow does not attack with sound waves, but it is adopted because it has excellent defense performance of the Harmonium Bangle.

Jet boots. You can disable the Earthquake and Surprise Soldier.

A Unicorn Tear. Shadow makes heavy use of Ilstorm, so disable the poison.

Arts

Next is the explanation of arts.

First, Guns Akimbo and Bounding Shot. Cross Shot do more damage in gun art, but Shadow uses a shield to prevent attacks, so use undefended shots.

Time Eclipse. There is a chance that you can reduce the motility of Shadow. If you reduce the motility of Shadow, you will be able to revive and recover in the first place, so it will be stable.

Shield. It simply increases your defense and your survival rate.

Mind Heal. When the recovery role gets out of hand, he will recover by himself.

Tower. For the last bad luck.

One piece of Martial Arts. If you use only guns, the damage done by the guns will decrease, so it seems that you should also use Martial Arts.

Reviver. If you put it on your side, your HP will be fully restored when you become incapacitated. Keeping it on your side will prevent the party from being destroyed.

Sacrifice. Valuable overall recovery technique. Since it consumes LP, it cannot be used extensively, but it is possible to recover the members at once from the devastated state.

For Dodges, set Dodge Gale, Dodge Powder, and Dodge Net. Here, if you select Wonder Bangle as the shield, you can remove Dodge Gale.

Tactics

Finally, tactics.

On the first turn, it will be confirmed and disturbed, and Scattered Petals will be fired in rapid succession, so everyone will defend.

On the second turn, Blue recovers himself to Reviver, Asellus to Faeblade, two to Time Eclipse, and one to recover Blue. If Blue survives this turn and the Shadow’s motility can be reduced, it will be stable after the third turn.

From the third turn onwards, Blue will use Reviver, Asellus will use Magical Heal, and one or two will use Time Eclipse. The surplus people use Shield first, and then attack with Bounding Shot or Martial Arts.

Anyway, it’s important to keep Shadow less motile. If Blue’s Reviver spreads to everyone, the party is almost never destroyed. When Reviver is widespread and it’s not the time to Sacrifice, Blue will defend it. Blue survival is a top priority at this party. If no one needs recovery, Asellus will take part in the attack.

The biggest enemy is the depletion of WP and JP. In each case, I think that about 130 is enough, but if the points run out before Shadow escapes, it may be better to raise the upper limit of the points and try again.
